Crystal because?
The “City of the Crystal”. Our history of this precious working activity begins with the production of the Glass and subsequently of the Crystal. The industrial activity of Colle di Val d’Elsa until already from the eight hundred was defined as “the Boemia of Italy”. Today the true one is become “City of the Crystal” with the 15% of the whole world production and over the 95% of the italian. A lot of the objects in Crystal that daily you use on Your table,
like glasses, bottles,underplates,
flower’s vase, main dish,
vases table to enrich your furnishing, come from this splendid town. Artisian’s Master, blowers of Crystal they are real sculptors of this fascinating incandescent material.
The objects blowed, plasmed and modeled with gripper, tools of the work by the “traveling salesmen” they are at the end of the work: objects semiworked. Infact these creations they require to this point of the second phase: The ENGRAVING.
Us of the “La Grotta del Cristallo“ are specialized in this activity. The ENGRAVING consists in the transformer, model, cutting, to cold what the glassware has moulded to hot temperature. Small difects,air blow, ”ssmall stones” (very small agglomerated not of flinty sand fused to over 1000 degrees of temperature….) together with the design, what it exalts our ability to see then in advance what it will be the final result of our workmanship ofengravings, are the details where we dedicate all of our attention to make any object in unique and exclusive Crystal.
